Hello, I'm Mel

I’m a qualified counsellor with over 10 years of experience working with both adults and young people. I offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever challenges you're facing — whether that’s something from your past, what you’re going through right now, or worries about the future.

I use an integrative approach to counselling, which means I draw on different therapeutic models to suit your individual needs. Some people come to therapy looking for a space to talk and be heard — others may want more structure or strategies to help manage anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or low mood.

Over the years, I’ve worked in a range of settings, including the NHS, schools, and charities. This has given me valuable experience supporting people from all walks of life, including many who are neurodivergent — particularly teenagers — and those who are transgender or gender-diverse. My priority is to create an inclusive, safe, and accepting environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgement.

I’m passionate about helping people:

  • Understand themselves better

  • Build healthier relationships

  • Develop tools to manage life’s stresses

  • Explore their identity and values

  • Heal from past experiences

I sometimes incorporate mindfulness techniques into my work, which can be especially helpful in calming the mind, staying present, and managing overwhelming emotions.

I truly believe that therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating. It can be a space where you're met with compassion, curiosity, and support — and where small steps can lead to meaningful change.

Whatever has brought you here, I want you to know you’re not alone. If you’re thinking about starting therapy, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey.

Low mood / depression

Low self esteem

Domestic Abuse

Relaitionships
